Respond to a website inquiry

Who it’s for: Salespeople and managers
Where: Today → inquiry or Leads → inquiry
Before you start: A connected website has delivered an inquiry to this workspace.

  1. Open Today and look under Waiting for an owner or Awaiting first response.
  2. Open the inquiry and review the customer’s request, source and response information.
  3. Take responsibility for it. If ownership needs repair and you have assignment access, Use backup owner applies the configured backup policy.
  4. Contact the customer and record the actual call, or send through configured Sales email and check its outcome.
  5. Set the next action and follow-up date. Review the linked task and notifications when those automations are enabled.

The inquiry has an accountable owner and shows evidence of the contact attempt, with a clear next step.

  • An acknowledgment, assignment, phone-link click or email draft is not proof of a human response.
  • First response and reaching a person are separate facts. An attempt can be recorded even when nobody answers.
  • Tasks and reminders depend on workspace settings and service availability; a captured inquiry does not prove automation ran.
  • For manager setup, see Configure response targets and Set up automations.
