Manage contact suppression

Who it’s for: Managers and authorized salespeople
Where: Lead or contact record; Settings for the phone suppression list
Before you start: The correct person or number and permission for the intended change.

  1. Open the lead or contact and review its Do not contact or DNC state before outreach.
  2. Record a person’s do-not-contact choice using the available record control.
  3. To suppress a phone number across the workspace, open the suppression list in Settings, enter the number and reason, and choose Suppress.
  4. Search for the entry and confirm that the correct number was recorded.
  5. Review the affected contact and lead before the next outreach attempt.

The record displays its suppression state and the workspace list contains the number you added.

  • Person-level suppression and the workspace phone list are distinct controls.
  • Linked lead and contact suppression is kept consistent; do not create a new record to bypass it.
  • Remove suppression only after confirming that the underlying contact preference has changed under your company’s policy.
